Mentlegen, a dear friend of mine happens to love TF2 a lot (3000+ hours!) and has converted badlands into something that will make you weep your heart out. Here:
More updates coming soon. Stay tuned and push those carts!
Also a high five for Bolty for making the particle effects!
Awsome...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the TRON weapons model pack/map pack/HUD pack and particle effect pack.
Hopefully, this TRON mod would be popular soon.
Can't wait for the download link :)
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteLove your work. Just letting you know we have featured this at MMGN.com, I hope you don't mind. I also linked the article back to this page.

This is soooo cool.
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to host the rocket smoke trail effect, that is awesome, can't wait for the whole pack!
UMG claims copyright infringement? BULLSHIT. This video was, in every way, unique.
ReplyDeletedam youtube automatied copyright sytem DAM YOU!!!!!
ReplyDeleteRoby: It's because the song was from the Tron Legacy soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteI'm pissed at the removal, too. Great video, and I still have that song stuck in my head.
@Joel: Well yeah no duh, but it was appropriated into a new artistic expression. This wasn't some video that only include a still image of an album cover with the song playing. It had it's own, clear merits. Furthermore, the song played an important role in the video (the fighting was choreographed to match the beat in some sections... very well I might add), so it was not a non-consequential aspect of the video. Lastly, the audio of this video included both the song and the gameplay audio overlapped, making it so that ripping the audio straight from this video DID NOT give you the original Daft Punk song.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, it's clearly a legit fair use. Someone at youtube just flagged it and it got removed before anyone gave it a real look through.
oh god where is the link please MY BODY IS READY
ReplyDelete@Roby: If putting a snippet of a copyrighted song in a piece of video counted as fair use, movies wouldn't have to pay royalties. Is what the record companies are doing retarded? Yes. Is it illegal? No.
ReplyDeleteCan you make the view models skins downloadable? :) I especially like that scouts shotgun and his hands :)
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeletefirst congratulations ! You did a very good job.
Any suggestions :
- could you make a "Tron Fortress" Steam group ? Would be nice :).
- could you tell people how to help you in this crazy project ?
Keep us all updated, please ! :>
As well as the HUD display. Will there be a way to have the ribbons of light and when u look in first person your hands glow. Also if the colors were hard to identify quick enough between enemy and foe then the blue background could be white instead of blue
ReplyDeletei mean instead of black
ReplyDeletewhen r u going to post it
ReplyDeletethe sniper left hand glows. but it should be the right because that is the trigger finger and the bow finger while the other holds the weapon steady.Could u change that please.
ReplyDeleteThis is making me geek out.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for a download link... The private server I play on would /love/ to host this map, and we wait in anticipation for its arrival!
ReplyDeleteis there a Hud display and if so what file do u put where
ReplyDelete@Steve the Pocket: No. The law is based around 4 criteria. One of which is profit. Movies need to pay loyalties because they are making a profit by the use of the music. But nothing is being sold here, so it's still fair use.
ReplyDeleteIs this going to be available for download? This would be AWESOME to play on.
